Ante Room Decor Ideas

Ante Room Decor Ideas
The Ante Room is usually the first impression of a home. For this reason it is not to be neglected. There are many ways of jazzing up your ante room irrespective of size.
Feature wall
If your entry door faces the wall it is a great opportunity to delight yourself and your guests with some creative wall art or decoration.  Hanging a mirror opposite the entry door can also make the hall way appear bigger. A wall of pictures can also be quite interesting and engaging.
Fascinating colour scheme
Colour plays an important role in interior design.  Wall coverings, furniture or rugs can make a bold statement for those who enter allowing you to show off your taste effortlessly.
Small spaces
Small ante rooms may not allow you enough room, but you can use built-in shelving to display ornaments, vases and figurines. If however there is no walls and space between the entry door and the rest of the apartment then you can simply go with wall and floor decorations.

  5. Interesting analysis of the ante room. On a personal note a very nice time to see this too as we've been trying to figure out how to fix up our ante room. Unlike this one though, we do have built in shelving so we're a bit less flexible. I'm thinking of a painting or an object (case, sculpture or the like).

I like the love the painting and lamp (though I'm not so sure I would do a table lamp in an anteroom, but it's still a nice lamp). The colour combination is very nice. I'm not so sure of the figurines (though that's on a purely personal inclination as the do look nice). However, my personal jury is out on the black and white tiling; very bold, but a bit difficult; the problem I envisage with that is that people will either completely love it or completely hate it (though some will say otherwise), you will probably find few in betweens. In my case I would probably switch between both on different days of the week :)

  6. Hello Tu,
If your ante room is very small, you could use a mirror (with ornate framing) as opposed to a painting. This would give the illusion of a larger space.
I agree with the flooring. You either like it or you dont : - )

  7. Yah, unfortunately, it's not a real ante room in that sense. I think the mirror probably serves best when it faces the entrance, in ours, the art niche does not face the entrance, rather it is perpendicular to it. In essence it's perpendicular to the entrance rather than opposite it.

In addition I'm not too fond of mirrors; I think they are functional rather than artistic (or attractive or eye catching). Besides, I'm not really interested in making anything look larger than it actually is, I'm comfortable with the overall amount of space in the house as a whole.
