Making the Most of Small Spaces

Space is often a major consideration when looking for a new house or office for example.  Naturally, we tend to gravitate towards bigger spaces which may often make a dent on our pockets - especially when working on a budget.
You'd be amazed how well you can style a small space thereby making it appear bigger.

Tips and Tricks
1) Use multi functional furniture.  For a bedroom, invest in a bed which has storage space like drawers underneath.  For your living room, you can also use a love seat with a trunk underneath.  This helps to create space in an otherwise small enclosure.
In the image above, the coffee table doubles as a storage space, the trunk underneath the lamp to the left works as a stool and also space for storing books, magazines etc. So also there's the love seat which has storage beneath the seats and beside it is a box which also has space which can be used in addition to being used as a stool.

2) Use Mirrors.
Mirrors trick the eye and brain to believing a space is bigger than it is. For a small room use mirrors to open up the space and create the illusion of space.

3) Neutral Tones
Neutral tones such as whites, beiges, creams when used for walls can make a room appear larger than it actually is.
